Taking the Knowledge Test in Hawaii

Format: Online (webcam-proctored on desktop/laptop) or in-office computer at Honolulu CSD.
Appointments: No appointment for the online KnowTo Drive test; in-person permit issuance is by appointment at a Honolulu CSD driver licensing center within 60 days of passing.
Bring: Certified birth certificate, Social Security card, two proofs of Hawaii address, completed application, and Certificate of Completion from the online test. Applicants under 18 need a Parental Consent Form.

Renewing Your License in Hawaii
Hawaii licenses are valid for 8 years and a standard renewal costs $40. Hawaii doesn't offer online driver license renewal; residents must book an in-person appointment via AlohaQ at a Honolulu Driver Licensing Center. Online services are limited to appointments and duplicates.
