Taking the Knowledge Test in Georgia

Format: Computer-based knowledge exam at DDS Customer Service Centers.
Appointments: Walk-in at any DDS Customer Service Center; must begin at least 30 minutes before closing.
Bring: Proof of identity (certified birth certificate, U.S. passport, or Certificate of Naturalization), full Social Security number, and two proofs of Georgia residency dated within 6 months. Under-18 applicants must also provide a Certificate of School Enrollment (Form DDS-1).

Renewing Your License in Georgia
Georgia licenses are valid for 8 years and a standard renewal costs $32. U.S. citizens age 18+ Georgia residents who hold a REAL ID (gold star) license with no changes may renew online or via the DDS 2 GO Mobile App; a $5 online discount applies.
