If you don't pass: In-person: unlimited (once per day); Online: 2 attempts per 6 months. Wait 1 day(s) before retaking.
Renewing Your License in Ohio
Ohio licenses are valid for 4 years and a standard renewal costs $30. Online renewal is available for most Ohio drivers whose license is current or expired less than six months, who are not getting a REAL ID for the first time, and who have no suspensions on their record.
When to renew: Any time before the expiration date (drivers under 21 cannot renew more than 30 days before their birthday)
